Traumatic experiences aren't always obvious. Sometimes we suffer their consequences without being able to remember anything.


In the following sections, I'll list some symptoms and issues that you can resolve with my support—be it specific traumatic experiences or their consequences, manifesting in the body and mind, or simply a vague feeling of discomfort. A single symptom is enough to be able to work with Somatic Experiencing.

Trauma

Traumatic experiences

Experiences that lead to trauma include not only war and natural disasters, but also sexual assault, traffic accidents, falls, surgeries, illnesses, (domestic) violence, injuries, the loss of a loved one, childhood neglect, medical treatment, and childbirth (for both mother and child). The younger we are, the more quickly an event traumatizes.

On the psychological level: All forms of stress and (unexplained) restlessness, tension, fear, insecurity, aggression, depressive moods, rigidity, strong emotional swings, overwhelming feelings, massive anger, confusion, forgetfulness, disorientation, constant brooding, the inability to feel joy.

On the physical level: hyperactivity, panic attacks, shortness of breath, dizziness, tightness, sleep disturbances, exhaustion, chronic pain (for which there is no medical explanation)

Possible topics could be: relationship difficulties, difficulties with physical contact, crises, breakdown, fear of failure, difficulty taking the next step, not being able to move forward, stuck in old patterns, needing to have everything under control, feelings of lack and personal inability

Where should we go?

We desire a fulfilling life with good relationships, meaningful work, and a zest for life. The path to this goal can be long, but individual steps are always possible:
