SE and AI – therapeutical and ethical risks and benefits and the magic of presence
I will start this lecture giving a brief overview of current uses of AI tools in psychotherapy in general and introducing relevant terms and applications. I continue with highlighting possible therapeutical benefits and risks of using AI tools in psychotherapy. I will add some remarks about the broader ethical risks such technologies imply and the implications of the shift from relation with people to relation with AI tools.
Based on this fundament I will turn to SE and AI tools and explore possible uses. Is it thinkable to use chatbots or other AI tools in SE and if yes in which ways? And where does it need the empathic HUMAN other sharing the magic of being present together?
